S.T.R.I.V.E
S.T.R.I.V.E is a proposal to revitalize an abandoned building in the southside of Columbus, Ohio. In this collaboration project, I was partnered with a group of 10 other classmates. We felt the best way to handle the crisis of abandon buildings in Columbus was by building a community center because they offer a safe space for building healthy relationships with your neighbors. The location of the building is 773 E Markison Ave, Columbus, OH, 43207. We picked that location due to the benefits of having a police station, fire station, community pool, elementary school and in a diverse growing community of Parsons Ave, which is now recognized as the next Short North. In the group I was in charge of the sketch up model and helping coordinate the design elements with a fellow interior designer and industrial design major. We used sustainable materials such as concrete, wood plates (for furniture), planet walls and vinyl.
